Note in order to remove commits on a remote repository the strip command will need to be run on that repository, you cannot do this through push. These files can be restored by going to View > Synchronize then clicking the Unbundle icon and selecting the file under the strip-backup folder. Note a backup of the commits you removed is kept under. To remove only the selected commit but keep the decendant commits see MQ. Just right click on the “Renamed help file, add service” commit then select Modify history > Strip: Let’s say you wanted to remove the “Renamed help file, add service” commit and descendant. Strip allows you to remove commits from your repository. To use strip you will need to enable the strip extension. Note a backup of the original commit is kept under. But it doesn’t allow you to undo removing or adding a file from the commit, for that see MQ. To do this you click the down arrow to the right of the commit button and select Ammend current revision:Īppend allows you to do things like modify the commit message, or add/remove/modify files. AppendĪppend is a quick way to allow you to modify the most recent commit. Secret is helpful when you are working on changes locally but don’t want to accidently push the commit when pushing other commits. By default you cannot modify a commit that is public until you change it back to draft by right clicking the commit and selecting Change Phase to > draft. The idea of the phases is so you know whether it’s safe to modify the commit or not.

I honestly couldn’t choose which was worse since they’re both criminals who should be in jail, so I decided to just combine them. Like: If I remember correctly, she killed Seven and Saeran’s mother. Rika must take responsibility for her actions and be judged by the court. And in the end, Rika gets off the hook and V still isn’t over her. It’s pretty much a Rika DLC where Cheritz desperately tries to excuse all her actions and treat the people who refuse to forgive as the real culprits. V’s AE isn’t even about V nor does it focus on VxMC. But I’ve read what happens in it and it seems like I made a good decision. I was fuming with anger at the end of V’s route and decided to rage quit (By “rage quit” I mean that I refuse to play more than the first chapter of V’s AE). The fact V died (Seven’s route) and she didn’t even end up in jail is absurd. My hatred for her made her get the first place on this list, as well as ending up on my top 3 most hated anime (and anime-based games) of all time - thus making her the ‘rival’ of the equally disgusting and despicable Junko Enoshima from the Danganronpa games. Words cannot express how much I hate this bitch. Rika made the decision for them because SHE thinks they can’t do it. And let me remind you that there are people - like Saeran - who didn’t even have a choice in this. Instead of getting help, the cult members are expected to accept their uselessness and just live in despair for the rest of their lives. She created Mint Eye - her so-called “paradise” - for them to live there as a cult, serving her like she’s their goddess. Rika isn’t trying to help people overcome their despair and improve as people. Whether you think you can “survive in the outside world” or not, she will insist that you can’t and will make you join Mint Eye even if you don’t want to. You either join Mint Eye on your own free will or you’ll be forced to take the elixir, just like Saeran. Rika seems to sincerely believe that she’s in control of everyone’s lives and must do as she says because her way is the only right way. She excuses her actions by saying it’s for the sake of “love” and that it’s for Saeran’s best since he can’t “survive” outside of Mint Eye. And when he tries to break away, she just doubles the doze, completely ignoring how badly it affects him. She took him from his mother (who was already abusing him enough), locked him up in a basement and forced to take the elixir in order to brainwash him and is using him as her pawn to convert RFA and their guests to Mint Eye. She abuses Saeran in every way possible. She emotionally and mentally hurt the members of RFA, especially Yoosung. I’ll just list some of the reasons why I hate her here Yes, I’m aware of how her parents treated her, but her actions are still inexcusable. I wanted to write it in the title as well, but there was no room.īlank chart made by Wildcat1999, and can be found at Let's get to the list, shall we? Please note that there are SPOILERS down below. We started our dinner by ordering two rounds of Green Monsters, a specialty cocktail made with cacique, the local liquor, and a bold green liqueur (and what a fantastic name, right?). Arenas’ chef prides himself on using the garden’s ingredients in many of his daily dishes, and for what the staff can’t grow themselves (such as the grass-fed beef or the sea bass), they buy locally-sourced from farms and fishermen. Like its commitment to beach sustainability, Flamingo is also dedicated to land sustainability, growing an abundance of its own fruits, vegetables, and herbs right on location at the resort’s organic farm. Costa Rica tends to have that kind of effect-the tranquil, contemplative effect-on people.Īfter we sat for some time, we walked the few feet back to the resort and decided to have a late-night cocktail and dinner at Arenas, the resort’s Spanish-style hacienda beachside restaurant, which is open until 9:00 most nights. We talked about our honeymoon so far, about our dreams to come back to Costa Rica, about our excitement for the catamaran cruise we’d be taking the next day. Not knowing any of this, though, we still sat in the sand, awed by the organic fireworks show happening all around us. The residents of Playa Flamingo are incredibly proud of their commitment to their beaches and to the long-term sustainability of their land, plants, and animals, and as it would seem, the Margaritaville Beach Resort Playa Flamingo is most certainly a part of this commitment. In order to combat the harsh effects of tourists on the ecology of its beaches, a number of Costa Rica’s preeminent organizations (such as Costa Rica Tourism, the National Water and Sewer Service, the Ministry of Public Heath, the Environmental Ministry, and the National Tourism Chamber), joined Blue Flag’s efforts to create a inter-institutional program that would require eligible areas to meet at least 90% of its minimum requirements by the end of each year.Īmong other criteria, the program tracks aspects such as microbiological quality of the ocean’s water, the quality of coastal sanitation (i.e., the lack of garbage, the availability of garbage and recycling receptacles, the way run-off water and industrial waste is treated, etc.), and the kinds of environmental education programs that are offered in the local school systems. The program itself was created in 2002 in response to the fear of beach pollution as a consequence of irresponsible tourism. Plus, Playa Flamingo is a special beach: not only does it proudly hold the designation as one of Costa Rica’s Blue Flag beaches, it is protected and conserved by the staff at the Margaritaville Beach Resort Playa Flamingo and has the softest powdery sands I’ve ever put my feet in.Īs we would later learn, the Blue Flag Ecological Program is an extremely coveted designation. After a few days of adventure travel and organic farming, we were more than ready to spend some time in the sand on our beach towels, snorkeling with the sea turtles, and swimming in the ocean. We’d spent the first few nights with TAM Travel at the base of the Arenal Volcano, the next one in Monteverde, and we’d just arrived at the Flamingo Beach Resort, where we’d be staying for the next two nights. We sat down cross-legged in the cool sand and simply watched the magnificence of nature.Īnd so began part three of our Costa Rican honeymoon. But then, the storm became a kind of fireworks in the sky, a brilliant symphony of white flashes, lighting up cloud formations, highlighting the coastline, illuminating the twinkling lights across the ocean and along the coast. This is the kind of view we saw as we kicked off our shoes, stretched our legs from the 4-hour drive from the Monteverde cloud forests, and walked in the cool sand along the Margaritaville Beach Resort Playa Flamingo.Īnd then, as we walked, the lightning storm began.įirst, it was little more than quick flashes of light breaking up the dark sky flecked with starlight. This Pacific beach sky is literally covered in stars, a lot like the star patterns I’m used to seeing up in northern Idaho, where there aren’t a lot of lights and where there’s almost nothing obstructing the view. And never any stars.īut not this Pacific Coast. Nights walking up and down the Del Mar beaches in northern San Diego, evening strolls along the boardwalk in Santa Barbara, dimly-lit drives up the coast to Carmel-by-the-Sea….they are all simply covered in coastal fog, that defining atmosphere of the West coast beaches. We arrived at Playa Flamingo to a beach full of stars.įor us, the Pacific Ocean beaches have never had stars-at least visible ones, that is. The paintings, including the Catskill, Adirondack, and White Mountains, usually represent the Hudson River Valley and the surrounding area.Ĭole was born in Lancashire, England and moved to America when he was seventeen. The Hudson River School was an American art movement in the mid-19th century, represented by a group of landscape painters whose Romanticism inspired their artistic vision. Or to give it it’s full title “ View from Mount Holyoke, Northampton, Massachusetts, after a Thunderstorm - The Oxbow” was painted by Thomas Cole in 1836.Ĭole was the founding member of the Hudson River School(not technically a school more of a movement) It is arguably his most famous work and currently resides on permanent display in the National Gallery in London. Prior to this work the majority of landscape ark would have been painting in a more symmetrical way and would have been of a classical setting similar to the works of Claude Lorrain. The industrial revolution would render many farm hands out of work and there was a mass exodus from the countryside towards any available work in the cities and larger towns. The painting is a scene of an everyday idyllic life in the countryside, when in reality at the time life in the British countryside was far from perfect. Initially it was not very well received in England at the time both the style of painting the “impasto” technique nor the subject matter. The Hay Wain is one of Constable ‘s collection of paintings called the ‘six-footers’, large-scale canvases that he produced for the Royal Academy’s annual summer exhibitions. The Hay Wain is a painting by British artist John Constable, completed in 1821, depicting a rural scene between the English counties of Suffolk and Essex, on the River Stour.Ĭonstable is one of the great landscape artists and along with William Turner his art is always what springs to mind when people think of English landscape paintings. Other great works that he completed in this way are his Haystacks series and Water Lilies series all of which would have painted outside with some of them completed in the studio later. Monet is famed for his many Impressionist landscape paintings, he would routinely paint the same scene multiple times in varying lighting conditions.Ī strong advocate of ‘en plein air’ or painting outside he would often have multiple canvases with him when working in the fields around his house in Giverny. Ironically, Impression Sunrise has a much more restrained use of brush strokes and more subdued colors than the paintings that would go on to personify the movement, as such it is not really a good example of impressionism. They were so resolutely rejected that, after being rejected from the Paris Salon in 1874, it drove the group of artists to hold their own exhibition. With Louis Leroy, a prominent critic of the time, saying that the wallpaper was more finished than the paintings of Monet. The Impressionists and their art were initially not well received by the Paris art establishment. The painting itself actually gives rise to the naming of the art movement “impressionism”. Le Harve is actually his home town and he would paint six separate canvases of the landscape scene. Impression Sunrise is one of a series of paintings by Monet that depicts the port of Le Harve, France. MacOS Intel = Intel i7-8850H 6 cores in VM/Docker. And in December, Florida’s chief financial officer, Jimmy Patronis, chose to divest $2 billion of his state’s funds. Louisiana State Treasurer John Schroder divested nearly $800 million in taxpayer funds from BlackRock in October due to Fink’s ESG stance. Critics began to call it “ woke capitalism.” Then, last year, the situation was made worse when Fink’s annual letter to CEOs echoed his past statements about sustainability, and added a new note about “stakeholder capitalism”-a policy of serving not only shareholders, but also employees, customers, and the public. They’re trying to demonize issues.”įink was first linked with ESG investing back in 2020, when he warned that climate change was fundamentally reshaping finance in his annual letter to CEOs and argued that executives needed to “reallocate their capital into sustainable strategies.” The stance drew the ire of a coalition of over 75 conservative leaders and elected officials who signed a letter to the CEO asking him “reconsider” the announcement. “And for the first time in my professional career, attacks are now personal. “It’s hard-because it’s not business anymore, they’re doing it in a personal way,” he told Bloomberg. Davos on Tuesday, Fink said that he is now trying to “address the misconceptions” about his company’s policies-and something bad has happened to the discourse along the way. It’s like giving “wheatgrass to a cancer patient,” Tariq Fancy, BlackRock’s former chief investment officer for sustainable investing, told the Financial Times in 2021. Last week, Florida said it would pull $2bn in state pension funds from the asset giant.Critics on the left have always viewed Fink’s ESG stance with skepticism as well, with some arguing that the whole ESG industry is just a market tactic-or outright destructive. Over the summer, 19 conservative US state attorney generals accused Fink and BlackRock of violating their fiduciary duties and of sacrificing returns to advance the company’s net zero carbon emissions agenda. Last year, it followed powerhouse investor Elliott Management in demanding that GlaxoSmithKline’s chief officer, Emma Walmsley, reapply for her job and launch a search for new leadership after taking a stake in the company.įink has been an outspoken supporter of ESG investing, a stance that has put him and BlackRock in political cross-hairs. “Fink clearly has political ambitions because it is not his job as chief executive of BlackRock to dictate energy policy,” Bluebell chief investment officer, Giuseppe Bivona, told Reuters.īluebell’s criticism of BlackRock focuses on commitments to invest in companies – including Glencore – that mine coal for energy production, and BlackRock’s refusal to support their campaign to prevent a Belgian chemical company called Solvay from dumping soda ash into the Mediterranean.Ī BlackRock spokesperson said that the company did not “support” Bluebell’s campaigns because it does “not consider them to be in the best economic interests of our clients”.īluebell has been involved in previous skirmishes. “The reputational damage of being dragged into this politically charged debate, in our view, is very significant because it calls into question the independence of BlackRock as an asset manager.”Īccording to Bluebell, which holds a 0.01% stake in BlackRock, the asset giant has not gone far enough to detach itself from fossil fuel investments in pursuit of its ESG goals, and Fink has become a target of environmental and human rights campaign groups. “The contradictions and apparent hypocrisy of BlackRock’s actions have … politicised the ESG debate,” Bluebell wrote in a letter. Once at Arheim, the chimpanzees all observed the arrival of a box of grapefruit. Peterson pointed out that competition often motivates individuals to deceive in order to get what they want, whether it's sex, power, or food. Eventually, Orr learned to suppress her vocalisations when mating with lower-ranking males, while she continued the habit of screaming whenever she mated with the alpha. Waal, who describes the case of Orr, an adolescent female at Arnheim, who would scream while she was having sex.ĭuring sneaked copulations with younger males, however, her screams sometimes caught the attention of the alpha, who would do his mighty best to interrupt the couple. How sophisticated can apes get with their deception? Dr Dale Peterson, in an article on 'Those Lying Apes', refers to the book Chimpanzee Politics (1982) by primatologist Frans D. The larger the average volume of a primate species' neocortex - the newest, 'highest' region of the brain - the greater the chance that the monkey or ape would pull a stunt like this one described in The New Scientist: "A young baboon being chased by an enraged mother intent on punishment suddenly stopped in midpursuit, stood up and began scanning the horizon intently, an act that conveniently distracted the entire baboon troop into preparing for non-existent intruders." Sign up for The Gleaner’s morning and evening newsletters. In a comparative survey of primate behaviour, Richard Byrne and Nadia Corp of the University of St Andrews in Scotland found a direct relationship between sneakiness and brain size. Scientists studying the development of cooperative behaviour in apes and monkeys believe the animals developed the ability to lie and deceive in order to form coalitions, get food and mate."Ī New York Times article published in 2008 claims that we have a "highly evolved propensity for deceit", and continues, "Deceitful behaviour has a long and storied history in the evolution of social life, and the more sophisticated the animal, it seems, the more commonplace the con games, the more cunning their contours. Even if Huxley had exclaimed in surprise, using a common expression for being flabbergasted, "Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle!" his response, if literally true, might have made him a bigger liar than King Kong and the Mighty Joe Young combined.Ī recent article in the British newspaper Mail Online headlined 'Why you should never trust an ape: Researchers reveal how lying may have evolved in ANIMALS', states, "We all tell the occasional white lie - and researchers believe they have finally found out why. Wilberforce reputedly ask Huxley whether it was through his grandfather or grandmother that he claimed his descent from a monkey. What makes the event memorable is a question that the Bishop of Oxford, Samuel Wilberforce, asked Thomas Henry Huxley, a biologist known as 'Darwin's Bulldog' for his passionate advocacy on behalf of Darwin's theories. On June 30, 1860, seven months after Charles Darwin published his famous book on evolution (On The Origin Of Species), several prominent British scientists and philosophers got into a very heated discussion at the Oxford University Museum. It can also consist of a special amplifier that amplifies the signal before sending it to the antenna. Hence it increases reception by increasing the length of the antenna. In its simplest form, a booster consists of external wires attached to the wires of the antenna. The booster does this in different ways as there are different types of FM antenna boasters using different working principles. Here a booster will play its role.Ī booster will pick up the signal multiplies it significantly before transmitting it to the antenna.īy the time it gets to the antenna, it would have increased to the extent that it can produce a clear broadcast. Other factors that can cause weak signals include a problem with your antenna and the presence of another broadcasting station that may be more powerful and interfere with the incoming signals. It may also be due to physical obstruction like mountains between the broadcasting station and your home. However, if the signals received by the antenna are too weak, it may not be able to produce audible sound.Ī weak signal may be due to the distance between you and the broadcasting station. The tuner increases the signal in the process. Your FM antenna picks up the signal and sends it to the speaker to make it audible to you. This generates sound waves that transmit the audio signal of the broadcast. Generally, each FM station broadcasts on a specific frequency. It also helps to improve signal if you live in an area where signal strength is weak. How Does an FM Antenna Booster Work?Īn FM antenna booster allows you to listen clearly to a broadcast from an FM station far away from you. The ability to do this successfully, together with the capability to pick up signals from a long distance, are the major features that distinguish a good booster from a not-so-good one. To reduce unwanted signals, a good FM antenna booster must be designed to eliminate unwanted signals. It even amplifies the sound produced by its own mechanism if it is generating sounds. Unfortunately, an antenna booster amplifies all signals coming to the antenna, including noises and unwanted signals. To overcome this, an FM antenna booster will increase the signal so that the antenna can successfully pick it.īecause antenna boosters amplify radio signals, they are also called antenna amplifiers. Therefore, if you are far from the radio station, the signal getting to your antenna may not be strong enough to produce audible sound. In most cases, the farther away you are from a broadcasting station, the weaker the signal you get. In other words, an FM antenna booster increases the reception power of your FM antenna. With it, your FM radio receiver can successfully utilize weak radio signals as if they are strong. In simple terms, an FM antenna booster is a device used to increase the signal reception of an FM antenna. But first, what are antenna boosters, and how do you use them? What is FM Antenna Booster? Homemade FM antenna boosters are as effective as readymade ones. You can cut down the cost by doing it yourself. Luckily, basic FM antenna boosters are not expensive, but you don’t even need to buy one. However, with an FM antenna booster, you can increase the reception power of your antenna.Īmplifying your signal may also be necessary if you wish to listen to FM stations that are far away from you. It may be frustrating if you couldn’t listen to your favorite FM radio program because of poor signals. The numerous twinning wisps in the diamond on the left are so dense that it fogs up the stone’s appearance. To illustrate this, take a look at the following diamonds… In fact, some people wrongly assume that other types of inclusions like feathers or twinning wisps wouldn’t cause issues with chalkiness. When it comes to buying diamonds with lower clarity ratings, there’s a common misconception that diamonds become cloudy solely due to the presence of cloud inclusions. It only lists a tiny crystal and needle in the plot which raises the question what actually caused it to be graded as an SI2. If you clicked on the listing above and reviewed the GIA report (#7261338168), you will realize that the clarity plot is suspiciously clean for an SI2 diamond. Click on the image and interact with the HD magnified video to see the diamond’s appearance for yourself… Here’s an example of a cloudy SI2 diamond that would look dull and whitish. This statement is the death kiss of a diamond’s life and sparkle due to the severity of the cloud inclusions. The other red flag found in a GIA/AGS report is the presence of the following comment: Clarity grade is based on clouds that are not shown. When you see similar diagrams for slightly included diamonds (plots that are too clean!), it is wise to have a closer inspection before you commit to purchase it. One such telltale sign is an inclusion plot which shows a lack of plotted inclusions in a slightly included (SI) or included (I) diamond.Ĭlean looking inclusion plots of slightly included or included diamonds are yellow flags. This is because excessive clouds, twinning wisps and pinpoints can affect the brilliance of the diamond.įrom experience, there are some other telltale signs in a grading report that points to the likelihood of a hazy diamond. In general, when a low clarity diamond has inclusions like clouds, twinning wisps listed as the grade making inclusions, it calls for extra caution. This is fundamentally due to the nature/severity of the inclusions and things tend to get worse as you go lower in clarity grades (e.g. Please note, this does not apply to international orders.Cloudy diamond vs clear diamond video comparison.Ĭlarity issues are the main reasons why a diamond can look cloudy.
